We are a family-owned business (me, my husband and our two very cute dogs, Maggie and Annie).  We take good care of all of our piercing clients and many of them will not go anywhere else for their body piercing.   If you have any questions, you are always welcome to call us and speak with Laura.  She can answer all of your questions and make you feel comfortable with your decision to come to Beadscape for all of your body piercing.   Young or just young at heart, we cater to everyone.  We are fully insured and inspected yearly by the NJ Board of Health.  We have a private piercing room with a relaxed atmosphere.  Written and verbal care instructions are provided before each piercing.  A follow up visit is scheduled for a month after you are pierced.

 You must be 18 years old or older to be pierced without a parent's signature.  A Driver's License, Military ID, School ID (with a picture) along with a Birth Certificate.  If you bring only your Birth Certificate, you will also need a picture ID of some sort.  IF YOUR PARENT IS SIGNING FOR YOU, WE NEED AN ID FROM BOTH YOU AND YOUR PARENT.

     We are always here to answer your questions.  So when you're ready just stop in, no appointment is necessary.  We do pretty piercings . . .We will make you beautiful!

Do I need an appointment?
No. Most people decide they want a piercing  or dermal anchor and want it right away--so come on over. Body piercing or Dermal Anchors  are available Wednesday thru Friday (1:30-5:00) and Saturday (1:30-4:00)
We work on a first come-first served basis so sign-in when you get here.

What are the age requirements for body piercing/dermal anchors?
The State of NJ now requires an ID from BOTH the parent and child before a piercing or dermal anchor can be done so DON'T FORGET TO BRING YOUR ID'S!!  You must be at least 18 years old with a picture ID to get a piercing or dermal anchors without a parent or legal guardian.  If you are below the age of 18, you will need to bring your parent (Mother or Father) or your legal guardian (with paperwork from the courts).  By law, no one else can sign for your piercing or dermal anchor.  For navel piercing, we prefer that the client be at least 15 years old or older.  This is because if the piercing is done when the person is too young, the jewelry will be pushed out of the body when a growth spurt occurs, leaving a scar.  

What happens when I arrive?
You will be asked to fill out the necessary paperwork.  YOU MUST PRESENT YOUR ID'S!!  Then we will help you pick the correct jewelry for your new piercing or dermal anchor from our large selection of body jewelry. We cannot use body jewelry that is bought elsewhere, it must be purchased at Beadscape for insurance reasons.  After you make your jewelry selection, it is disinfected for 15 minutes.  We then go over the care instructions, step-by-step and you are provided with a written copy of the instructions.  You are also given a complimentary spray bottle of saline solution to use during the healing of your piercing or dermal implant.  You are then taken back to the piercing room.  The piercing or dermal anchor procedure is described to you and we discuss any allergies you may have to the products used during the piercing.  Most piercing or dermal anchor takes about 15 seconds from start to finish.

Will it hurt?
Body piercing or dermal anchors really doesn't hurt as much as you would think.  It is more the apprehension, that makes getting a body piercing or dermal anchors scary.  Most piercing or dermal anchors take only 15 seconds, from cleaning the piercing or anchor site to putting the jewelry in.

Is there a follow up visit?
Yes. We will ask that you stop back a month after the piercing  or dermal anchor so we can make sure it is healing properly.  There is a $10.00 charge for this checkup to cover the cost of supplies and services.  If you should choose to purchase new jewelry when you come for your checkup, the checkup will be done free of charge.  If you have any problems with your piercing or dermal anchor before or after your scheduled checkup, you may stop in anytime, The charge for this is also $10.00.

Should I eat before a piercing or dermal anchor?
YES, PLEASE EAT!   It is best it eat within 2 hours of a piercing or dermal anchor. This will help regulate your blood sugar and blood pressure so you won't feel lightheaded or faint from your piercing or dermal anchor. You will not get nauseous from a piercing or dermal anchor if you eat before you come. 

Who will be doing my piercing or dermal anchor?
Laura does all of the body piercing and dermal anchors.  I've been piercing since 1999. Beadscape is a family-owned business.  It's me and my husband (and our two cute dogs). We are fully insured and inspected annually by the Board of Health.  All tools are autoclaved.  All needles are used only once and then discarded.  We are proud of our very clean facility and we make our customers feel right at home.

Do you sell Body Jewelry and Dermal Anchor Tops?
Yes!  We have a large selection of Body Jewelry and Dermal Anchor Tops. Don't worry if you are afraid to change your own jewelry, anything you purchase here at Beadscape will be put in for you at no charge. I will also show you how to change your jewelry so you'll know what you are doing.  

I had a body piercing or dermal anchor done somewhere else and it never seems to totally heal.  What could be wrong? 
This is a very common problem.  If this is happening to you, just stop in.  We will look at your piercing or dermal anchor and give you some advise to help with the healing.  It may be several things.  The metal in the jewelry used during the body piercing or dermal anchor may contain a lot of nickel or it may be the wrong size.  Perhaps you were not told the proper way to clean your piercing or dermal anchor.  Sometimes just changing the jewelry to a better piece of jewelry is all you need to do. Proper cleaning information will also help you on your way to complete healing.

Do you do regular Ear Piercing with a gun?
Yes, we do.  Any area of the outer fringe of the ear may be pierced with a gun.  It is against the law to pierce any other or your body with a piercing gun.  The cost for ear piercing, using a gun are:
1 Earlobe with piercing stud - $10.00 (with gold or surgical steel ball studs)
2 Earlobes with piercing studs - $18.00 (with  gold or surgical steel ball studs)
1 Cartilage with a piercing stud - $15.00 (with  gold or surgical steel ball studs)
2 Cartilage with piercing studs - $25.00 (with  gold or surgical steel ball studs)

What is a Dermal Anchor?
A dermal anchor is a small piece of jewelry with a top that screws on (usually a gem or flat stud design) and an anchor which is "anchored" just under the skin.  The State of New Jersey does not allow the use of a dermal punch to insert a dermal anchor.  We only use the method approved by the State of New Jersey which requires us to use a piercing needle to insert the dermal anchor.  This method leaves a smaller scar after removal and allows for better healing.  After the anchor is inserted. the hole then heals around the anchor so all you will see is the top of the jewelry.  Want a little sparkle somewhere?  Try a Dermal Anchor.   Hips, back dimples, back of the neck, cleavage, collar bones, around a naval piercing, cheekbone are just some of the places that look great with a dermal anchor. They may also be added to a tattoo to add even more impact. These implants need to be done by an experienced professional who can do them. Not every piercer can do dermal anchoring,  It is a different type of artform, but we are very experienced in this technique. The anchoring technique requires experience, skill and knowledge of the human anatomy. There are also locations on the body where a dermal anchors will not work due to body movement and clothing requirements.  We will let you know if we feel and dermal anchor may not work out in an area that you may have selected.   The anchor part is healed into the body but removal is easy and we do it here at Beadscape.  The cost for removal is $10.00 per anchor.   Removal may result in a small scar.  They are less likely to grow out than a surface piercing which uses a bar.   If you decide you want a different top on your anchor, just come in and purchase the top and I will change it for free.  Very beautiful!

14k gold may be available at an extra cost.

Dermal Anchors  - $60.00 for one or $100.00 for two with your choice of  jewelry.  If you would like more than two dermal anchors done, we can work out a price.  New replacement tops are available for $10.00 each (we'll change them for you, free of charge).  The removal cost is $10.00 for each dermal removed.   A small scar may remain after removal.  

Ear to Ear (Industrial) with your choice of jewelry - $85.00 with your choice of jewelry.

Daith, Rook, Vertical Tragus, Tragus, Conch, Anti-Tragus, Vertical Earlobe, Snug, Septum, Eyebrow, Labret, Lip and Monroe - $55.00 with your choice of jewelry.

Snake bites, spider bites or angel bites - $100.OO with your choice of jewelry.  

Tongue with your choice of jewelry - $68.00 with your choice of jewelry.  We recommend using only plastic balls.  Metal balls damage your teeth and this damage may not be apparent until it's too late.  You can buy new balls but you can't buy new teeth!

Nostril with your choice of basic jewelry - $55.00 with your choice of jewelry.  This jewelry is made of surgical steel.  We'd like to advise you that all of the stones used in the type of jewelry are glued in and could fall out of the jewelry at any time.  For this reason, we recommend upgrading to jewelry with a cubic zirconia or genuine diamond in 14k gold with a prong setting, We offer 14k gold nostril jewelry in both white and yellow gold, so if you like to wear Sterling Silver, pick white gold.

Nostril in 14k gold with 2.0 mm cubic zirconium - $70.00 with your choice of white or yellow 14k gold jewelry.   The 14k gold nostril screw comes with a 2.0 mm CZ which is very small, flat and has a pronged setting so the cubic is less likely to fall out.  This is one of the choices of jewelry we highly recommend for nostril piercing.

Nostril with 14k gold and genuine diamond - 1.5 mm diamond-$80.00 or 2.0 mm diamond-$85.00 with your choice of white or yellow 14k gold jewelry.  Larger diamond are available for an additional cost and will have to be ordered.  The genuine diamond is small, very flat and comes in a pronged setting so the diamond is less likely to fall out.  This is one of the choices of jewelry we highly recommend for nostril piercing.

Nipple(s) - $60.00 for one or $100.00 for both with your choice of jewelry. 

Navel - $68.00 with your choice of  jewelry.
